Act 1: Let's get out of here

Steve lightly kicks the remains a little bit. "Oh, it's dead. Wasn't expecting that." He takes off his backpack and reattaches the staff before putting the whole thing back on. "What should we do with the husk?"

The young man blinks at Konrad, and it takes a few seconds before he realizes that the red mage is talking to him.

"Oh, right!" The guard turns around and steps outside the warehouse. "I'll be back with Mr. Vodelratch."

He scampers off.

"Konrad, this thing worth anything?"

"Maybe Gary-whatever will feel differently about it."

The black mage looks down at the wreck of the golem. "If no one wants it I'll keep the head to show Zelk. Maybe she'll reward me with a hero's kiss?" He smiles to himself imagining it.

Mihai is about to say something to that, but then a shadow comes over him and he just keeps quiet.

".............." - just keeps staring at the remains

"I hope so. We'll be late and I don't want to worry her too much."

Mihai walks off and goes watch the entrance.

Ten minutes later, the guard and his employer arrive to the warehouse.

Galarian Vodelratch enters the building with confidence, and once he lays his eyes on the remains of the golem, he extends his arms in a welcoming manner and says with an elated tone, "You really did it! And without a fight? Jurian told me you used some kind of magical trinket, but even so..." He examines his surrounding. "The building suffered no damage either. And here I thought I was gonna have to pay for the carpenters to come fix the ensuing mess. Excellent job, really."

Konrad smells a profit, and bows modestly. "You're too kind, Mr, Vodelratch. We plan on keeping the statue for our own use, unless perhaps you are interested in a curio, a souvenir of this occasion?"

"Oh, I've seen enough of that thing," Vodelratch replies. "You can keep it if you wish. More importantly..." He pulls out his coin purse from the inside of his jacket. "Here's the reward I promised you, with a small bonus. It's not everyday that I meet mercenaries as effective as you. And if you still need to buy supplies, tell me what you need and I'll make sure the crates are ready to be loaded onto your ship at the break of dawn."

The merchant hands over 10 pieces of platinum to Konrad.

"We need some paint for the deck, actually. I'm also looking for combat equipment. Not in bulk, though."

"Thanks, Vodelratch. That's a big help."

He nods to the mages and then faces Mihai.

"Hmm, I do sell those products, but my selection of combat equipment is limited. If you need anything woven that I don't have in stock, it'd take me more than a day to acquire too."

7:12 AM, 31th of March 422
Narrowfist, Enclave

Galarian Vodelratch's employees only need a half hour to load all of the cargo onto the Vulcan. Along the supplies the party bought, there are also 8 big crates that they've agreed to take to Zest's Gate.

"I wish you safe travels," the merchant says from the docks, looking up at the party members standing on the ship's deck "And if you ever come back in Narrowfist, know that the Pentagonal Market company is always willing to do business with you."

The middle-aged man bows slightly as he says this.

Segel is hovering near the wheel, ready to relay Konrad's orders to his teams of sailors. The 70 other fairies however have decided to sit on the railing of the ship that's facing the town. They're obviously waiting for something, and Amber seems to know what they're about to judging by the huge smile on her face. Femke is somewhere on the quarter deck, out of sight from the longshoremen and Galarian.

"Will do! So long!"

Mihai nods, then goes stare at the horizon. Anxiously.

"Thank you, Mr. Volderatch. Farewell."

"Alright everyone, let's cast off!" He then tells some fairies to let down the sails and free the rope tying them to the dock. He assigns a few teams of fairies to positions and tells Segel a few things, and when he takes the wheel, he starts to instructing them on what to do.

The fairies coordinate with each other to move the ropes with their telekinesis powers. The ropes tying the ship to the moorings are quickly brought back on board and the sails are swiftly let loose. Konrad realizes that these small fairies don't need instructions to do their job, just the correct orders. As strange as it seems, these little guys are better sailors than most people he ever worked it.

Under a clear sky, the Vulcan starts to drift away from Narrowfist. The 70 fairies who are sitting on the railing decide that it's high time to have some fun. They all put their arms around each others' shoulders and with cheerful gusto, they begin to sing a sea shanty.

Shanty:

"How d'you know they were going to do this?" - he asks Amber.

Konrad catches himself humming the tune, and calls a team of fairies up. "Keep this heading, and call me back up when you spot land." He then heads down to the deck and starts to weave his glove, still humming.
