Act 2: Upheaval I - The Werewolf

The other arm is cleanly separated from the rest of the body by Waterglass.

"I think I'm going to be sick..." Fluffle says, eyes cast downward.

Nadzieja kneels down next to the corpse and answers Konrad's question.

"Yes," she says before turning to Mihai. "Get back."

She balls her hand into a fist and punches the werewolf between its shoulder blades. She then searches for something in the chest cavity, which makes a lot of mushy sounds.

"Oh... Eugh!" The fairy turns back and vomits his dinner into the street.

More or less satisfied, Mihai steps back.

Steve feels nauseous and looks away so he doesn't end up tossing his last meal like their fairy friend.

His rage subsiding, Mihai stumbles onto his sword for support; his injuries finally catching up with him. He looks at the carbuncle, delighting in his near-dead sorry state - "Are you ok?" - he asks with mock concern.

Florolf yaps at Mihai, seemingly satisfied. He stops wiggling his tail however.

"Uh?" Fluffle is half-responsive. "Yeah, I should-"

He looks at the werewolf again and sees Nadzieja pull her arm back, covered in blood and small bits unidentifiable organs.

"Ugh! Gimme a minute!"

He vomits one more time.

The monk stares at something she's holding in her hand; a small puff of black energy swirling on itself. It's trying to escape through Nadzieja's fingers but an invisible force pushes back against it.

"Here it is..." she whispers.

"Huh... would've thought it was in the brain."

"Why did you look again? Mihai's arms are in tatters! Stop looking, and start helping."

When he sees the thing trying to escape, his mouth drops open. "Oh..."

Steve frowns at Konrad in disagreement. "While Mihai definitely needs your help Fluffle it's alright to be sick if that's what you need to do. Getting sick after a fight is nothing to be ashamed of; I still throw up sometimes myself. That's a perfectly natural response to the often disgusting and ugly realities of a fight. Just don't let it keep you from your duties. So please help Mihai as soon as you are able."

Fluffle gasps for air, his stomach now truly empty. He doesn't say anything for a few seconds until he gives Steve a thumbs up, his eyes focused on the ground.

Nadzieja stares at the puff of black energy in her hand, which matches the discolored landscape of the Shroud. She then tightens her hold on the Endless, balling her hand into a fist. As she does, the Endless' form diminishes. Soon, there'll be nothing left.

"......"

Steve returns the thumbs up.

"What are you doing to the Endless right now Nadzieja? Are you literally crushing it to death?"

"That...was marvelous." Konrad cleans his weapon and stows it. "And a little uncomfortable to watch."

"I think so," the monk says to Steve. "I'm just following the Avatar's instructions."

She closes her hand and the Endless is quietly extinguished, leaving no other trace of its existence behind except the werewolf's corpse.

"It's done."

The fairy slowly flies over to Mihai's side with a hand on his stomach. His face is pale and his eyes sunken, but he nevertheless begins to heal his companion's arm.

"I'm here," he mutters before casting the cantrip of Life.

"Thanks, kid." - he tells the fairy. Then looks at Nadia - "For a second there, i thought you were the Avatar. I guess maybe i should've been a Monk."

Nadzieja frowns.

"Mihai is right," she says as she gestures towards the fighter. "I'm not an Avatar. I'm not even sure what an Avatar is."

"A entity whose consciousness resides in Magic, and can use in ways we've never seen before." - he explains briefly - "Then again, i could say the same about those skills of yours. Even Master Avalon didn't move like that."

"Yeah, when you disappeared and then dropped out of the sky to kick the werewolf--that was awesome."

At Steve's mention, Mihai looks kind of jealous.

Konrad:

The young woman puts a hand on her abdomen and moves towards the nearest building. "It's useful, yeah. It's a trick of the Shroud. It moves me where I want, but the range is limited."

She winces in pain as she sits down against the wall; cuts are visible through her tattered robe and her belly is covered in blood.

"Fluffle, give her a hand, will you? I can hold out."

"I'm fine," she replies.

Her wounds start to close, slowly.

Mihai raises an eyebrow - "That a trick of the shroud too?"
