Act 2: Upheaval II - Revelations and search

Konrad:

Fluffle nods at Steve and falls in line behind the rest of the party. Amber and Florolf apply the principles of the Meat Shield and stay close to Steve, crossbow and claws at the ready.

Mihai steps into the courtyard and sees no one.

OOC:

Konrad tries to discern what effects were woven into the gate and fence - and what they triggered.

Weaving 26

"Key first."

Steve is impressed by the woven defenses. "Best try it yes. I bet the defenses further in aren't as kind."

"Even the key is woven, in fact, to fit magical locks," he continues to ramble.

Amber inspects the courtyard and raises her crossbow, just in case.

"So... we go into the basement first?" she asks.

Fluffle hovers next to Steve's head and waits for any sudden movement.

"Oh!" Konrad floats the key into the lock and has it turn.

And, if it works on the lock, he will lead the group inside.

The party walks through the courtyard and stops in front of the stairs that lead down to the basement door. They can't hear anything except for the the wind and the chirping of birds. Konrad floats the key into the lock, and just like the gate, it makes a sound of gear turning. It is now unlocked.

"I'm really not liking this. It's too quiet," says Steve just loud enough to be heard by the others.

Mihai checks the entrance for any more surprises.

Find Traps 24

"I'll watch our backs," Fluffle says before doing exactly that. If someone sneaks up behind you, he'll know it.

Mihai examines the door, and he thinks that magical traps have been woven into the door itself, but the key appears to have deactivated them.

Mihai steps through.

Mihai stealthily opens the door and peeks his head in, but despite his efforts, he can't conceal himself well enough to fool the two people standing in this wine cellar; the two torches suspended against the wall were the only sources of light in this room until Mihai opened the door and let sunlight shine through. These two people – a young man and a middle-aged woman who both wear plain clothes – are standing next to the only other door that leads out of this room. Strange tattoos cover the left side of their face and the top of their shaved heads.

They examine Mihai with an impassive expression.

Mihai shrugs and walks in - "Rafal couldn't make it."
