"Thank you," Wiera says, touched. Zenobiusz continues to smile, very happy to be here tonight. This is when Nadzieja finally arrives at the table, presumable after welcoming all of the guests that would come tonight. She casually greets her clansmen, family and guests before sitting down between Master Avalon and Valor. One look at her is enough to tell that she's mentally exhausted, but still manages to remain in high spirits.

"Where's Jaropelk?" she asks. "Anyone seen him?"

"He's probably checking on the kitchens," Zenobiusz says.

"That does sound like him; always working."

Konrad notices at glance from Angelika, Duma's sister, but as soon as he turns to look at her, she's speaking to her comrades again.

Konrad shifts in his chair, instantly regretting that wink he gave her in the arena. He chooses to ignore her (for now) and focus on their host.

"He'll come out of hiding eventually, won't he?"

"He'll have to," Nadzieja replies. "He's the one who organized all this."

"I can't wait to meet the man who almost beat you," Valor says.

"Of course he almost beat me," the Szef retorts, somewhat embarrassed. "He's been fighting for far longer than I."

"Which arm did he break again?" Suzy teases.

"...The left one."

Fluffle, who's been listening to everyone's conversations, winces at the mention of this injury.

"He broke your arm? That's hard to imagine. Was that when you originally became a Szef?"

Konrad gapes at this revelation. He broke an arm, and she kept fighting? Now that's the determination of a true szef. Or someone very close to pain. "That's singularly remarkable. How did you do it?"

Nadzieja looks back and forth between Mihai and Steve, who've asked their first question at the same time. "It happened during my duel for the leadership of the Zdetermiwa clan, yes."

She then leans forward to look at Konrad. "From what I remember, I feinted and overwhelmed his defenses."

"I find it more impressive that he managed to curb your temper," Leon teases. "Not even Avalon could do that."

"Oh, you have to tell me about that," Duma interjects.

"No, he won't," the First says while glaring at Leon. He is still smiling.

Konrad smiles at the tactics as she states them. She might not think it's impressive, but he does. His eyebrow goes up when it's revealed that her training and her Stoic teaching weren't enough to check her emotions. Ideas about how to redirect the conversation present themselves as duds and squibs, so he stays quiet.

"At least there was no bone breaking this time. But not losing your temper seems like an important quality for a leader. What finally clicked for you?"

Nadzieja seems hesitant to answer Steve's question, especially in front of her family and guests. Luckily for her, someone else speaks up before she can.

"Everyone! Can I have your attention please?" a male voice says in Wytrwaly.

A middle-aged man has appeared on the small platform located at the northern side of the room, not far from where the adventurers are sitting. Clean-shaven and well-kempt, this man wears simple clothes; a gray cotton jacket with a collared neckline that reveals a white shirt underneath it, and a pair of gray trousers to match it. This must be the previous Szef of Zdetermiwa, Jaropelk Ziobro.

All of the clansmen quiet down, prompting the fairies to do the same.

Konrad notices Nadia's hesitation.

When Jaropelk speaks up, he looks up. "Oh, there he is. He cleans up well," he says, stroking his five o'clock shadow.

Steve notes Nadia's hesitation and his head slightly tilts to the right as his eyes ask "Why?" to her.

Nadzieja's attention is fully focused on her right-hand man at the moment.

"I know, I know, you're hungry," Jaropelk continues, "but stow your appetite for a minute, you sorry bastards. Where's our fearless leader? I can't make a speech if she isn't even here."

Several clansmen stand up and shout to Ziobro, "Here! She's right here!"

"Right, I see her. Barely. Come on, stand up Nadzieja!"

The young monk sighs and does as asked, slightly amused by her predecessor's casual attitude. Jaropelk gazes at her in silence for a few seconds, his lips slowly curling into a grin.

"Everyone; a round of applause for our Szef, the youngest First in the history of Myr."

He starts to clap, and so do everyone else. They all look at her with pride for what she has accomplished today.

Nothing for it then; he'd ask her about it later. Steve cheers with the rest.

Several people cheer and hoot for Nadzieja, who quickly turns bright red. And just when it calms down, Jaropelk speaks up again. "And now it's time for a feast. Eat hearty everybody!"

The right-hand man steps down from the platform and joins his clansmen at one of the tables. Then, many waiters enter the room pushing tables that move on castors. An incredible number of plates of food—salads, soups, stews, sandwiches, noodles, pasta, pies, yogurts, fruits, etc.—cover the moving tables. The first waiters are soon followed by other colleagues that push tables crammed with barrels of beer, wine and fruit juice. There's even a few jugs of water.

The waiters immediately begin to serve Nadzieja's table first, giving everyone an empty plate, a tankard, a glass and some utensils. The food is placed on the tables, letting everyone serve themselves while the waiters ask each guest what they'd like to drink.

"Beer and wine, please!" Amber decides immediately.

"I can't drink from a glass..." Fluffle says, dejected.

"Oh, don't worry mister," the waitress says. "We have plenty of fairy-sized tankards."

"Wow! Thank you very much miss."

Konrad immediately picks out a nice dessert wine for the kid. "Here, try this first."

He eyes a stew, keeping a mental note for some fixings to bring back to the ship.

He picks out what he recognizes as genuine Myrzen beer (or at least it was at the ports during his criminal career). While that's being poured for him, he grabs:

- Grapes
- A hot sandwich filled with steaming pork, cucumber and carrot slices, celery spritzed with ranch, oil and vinegar spritzed on the pork, and sharp mozzarella melted over the meat
- Orange cream yogurt
- Egg salad
- Finally, a glass of water

All while paying attention to what Nadzieja picks out.

"Wine and apple juice please, in separate glasses." He loads up his plate with salad, fruit, a bowl of soup, and a beef sandwich then proceeds to dig in with gusto.

"Go easy." - he tells Amber. Then asks for Single Malt Scotch.

"Hey Florolf, food time."

Mihai proceeds to nab the grilled meat first. Side of fries, plus whatever Lord Carbuncle shows interest in. He grabs an extra plate for his new pet.

Amber answers Mihai with a nonchalant tone, "Yeah, yeah, don't worry." She chooses the wine Konrad suggested and takes a sip. "Hmm... that's sweet."

She and Fluffle decide to share a meal, so after some deliberation, they settle on chicken rice, shrimps and and a side of steamed cauliflower and broccoli. As for Nadzieja, she goes for a large steak, a side of buttered potatoes and a bouquet of grilled asparagus.

Steve finds his meal succulent; it's been quite some time since he's eaten something this good.

Florolf seems highly interested in the steamed salmon and waits for Mihai to serve it to him. He leaves his lap and finds a nice spot on the table where he can eat without bothering anyone else. However, just as Mihai picks up his fork, the carbuncle turns around and starts to eat from his plate instead. Amber and Fluffle laugh out loud at the carbuncle's sudden change of heart.

Undeterred, Mihai skewers the meat on the other side of the plate, moves it to Florolf's plate and starts digging in.
