Act 1: Let's get out of here

Mihai takes a step back, allowing her to move past him if she so choses.

Konrad shrugs. "May as well."

"'Piracy', how ironic." He wordlessly fishes for his medal and shows it to her. "Seem like the sort of thing to award for piracy? We all have one, as do our missing friends, except the girl here," he gestures to Amber.

"Don't know if you heard about the incident with the asylum in Highwind a few months back, but you're looking at the heroes involved in that mess."

To Steve, Dice says, "I have a few supplies on me, but not much." She thinks for a moment. "But Hanns said he saw some in the room next to the armory."

She positions Dontdoit against the wall. Once it's done, she stands up and listens to Konrad. Once the red mage shows her the medal of honor, she slightly frowns, trying to ascertain the authenticity of the object.

"...You're the 113th adjunct?"

"Used to be." - Mihai adds without much enthusiasm

"No," Dice replies while shaking her head. "I only heard rumors about you and what you did. The stories are... conflicting."

Amber grins and takes out a Medal of Honor out of her pocket and shows it to Dice.

"See?" the teenager says.

The yellow mage is now dubious.

"That's my sister." - Mihai explains.

"How on earth did you get a medal? Is that Mihai's?" Steve moves to help Dice up. He'll be as gentle as possible.

"It's hers now."

Mihai shrugs, and goes to examine the desk at the back of the room.

Amber is still grinning, but she relents and puts the medal back in her pocket.

Dice holds her hand up. "I'm... okay," she tells him, feeling very awkward by the black mage's offer of help. She then turns to Konrad. "Different stories about what really happened. I can tell you about it if you really want to know, but... I'd rather check on my colleagues first."

She's clearly asking for permission to move into the hallway.

Mihai sees nothing on the desk, even though there is a lantern illuminating its surface. There are a few drawers, but nothing else except the large chair. And a thick layer of dust.

Mihai tries opening the drawers. Carefully, as he's had enough surprises for one day.

"Yeah yeah, go on." He waves her off, then bends down to put his own woven shackles on the man with the crossbow whom she was cradling, and follows Mihai to the desk and looks at it with him, plus the vault.

Spellcraft 22

"The big angry guy is the worst off. He took a bad hit from Mihai. We should start with him. The name is Steve, by the way. What Adjunct are you?" He'll follow her out into the hall.

"We're uh... we're the 43th adjunct," Dice answers. "Been with the Coins for the last four years."

She goes into the hallway and quickly checks on her companions. Florolf follows Steve, completely uninterested in staying in the same room as Mihai. The yellow mage is very worried about the state of her colleagues, and she goes to the supplies room next to the armory to collect bandages and disinfectants. There's a lot of medical supplies in there, enough for at least a few dozens of people. Once she has everything she needs, she gets to work.

Amber desummons Sunny after thanking her for the assistance and then decides to stick with Mihai and Konrad. She's very curious about what's really happening.

Konrad detects no magic from the desk. Mihai doesn't even find anything in it, despite how meticulous he is in his search. The desk is very much empty.

The safe is small, only two feet high, and a combination is required to open it. No trace of magic either.

Steve does his best to help. "How are they looking?"

Untrained Heal 21 to Aid Another.

"Hmm..."

Mihai looks at the safe, squints, then decides to try the drawers again. This time, searching specifically for a false bottom or any kind of hidden compartment.

He'll try knocking on the surfaces, or feeling for anything loose, or anything else he can think of.

Awareness 28

The woman, whose real name is still unknown, squints at the barbarian's injury, but sighs and relaxes. "They'll be fine," she tells Steve while applying bandages. "They're blessed, so they should heal pretty quickly." She pauses."It also helps that you refrained from killing them..."

She glances at the black mage, still uneasy about this whole situation and the fact he's been helping her stabilize them.

Amber looks around the "office" and decides to sit down at the round table in the middle of the room.

"Can't really open a safe without the combination," the teenager points out. She plays with a set of dices in her hand, trying to process everything that happened in the last hour.

Mihai searches the desk once again until he finally feels something on the bottom of one of the drawers. He finally notices that the wooden desk's surfaces are completely smooth, except for the spot he is now feeling with his hand.

Mihai tries to move that spot. Either press it, lift it or slide it, whatever will work. He'll take the drawer out, if need be.

"I'm glad we didn't either. What's your name? How did you get this assignment? For that matter, where is here? It seems like an old warehouse or bunker."

Deception 24 to make sure she isn't lying in her responses.

The yellow mage doesn't know which question to answer first, and she needs a moment to gather her thoughts.

"I don't really know what this place is. Probably a military base. There's an armed brig at the docks." With a motion of her head, she indicates the doors at the end of the hallway, which no party member has opened yet. "And my name is Mina. Mina Fein."

Konrad believes it would probably take him around 10 minutes to open the safe with weaving.

Mihai pulls the drawer out of the desk, examines the surface under it and finds a set of numbers engraved into the wood. 69 42 69 42 69
