Act 2: Upheaval III - The Master Weaver and the Arena

Steve walks in and studies the odd pair.

Konrad follows Steve and checks the place out. He walks right on into the center of the room as though he owns the place, and uses Condescending Leer at the two tattooed people. It's probably effective.

The two guards do not answer Mihai.

Instead, they sluggishly examine the adventurers one at a time with the same expression as before. They aren't armed, nor do their clothes seem to provide any sort of protection, but they do wear other tattoos on the top of their hands. Their sleeves prevent the adventurers from getting a good look at them however.

They continue to observe the party members in silence, long enough to creep out Amber.

Steve:

Konrad:

Konrad walks closer and just looks at them. "Nice tattoos." He turns to wink at the others to keep the tattooed people from noticing.

Door - traps, locks, and perhaps whatever I can detect nearby (the runes). You never know, you might get something.

Konrad:

The women gazes at Konrad and after a short moment, she asks with a hoarse voice in Wytrwaly, "Where is the merchandise?"

Steve looks at the tattoo people in revulsion. "The tattoos are woven." he whispers to Mihai, Amber, and Fluffle after drawing them closer.

"Like i said, Rafal couldn't make it. We need to talk to Goodman."

Amber and Fluffle are too young to grasp the ramifications of what Steve just told them, but they understand that it's dangerous. The two guards pay no attention to the black mage and they instead focus on Mihai. The woman tells him, "Professor Goodman needs the merchandise."

"Which is why we need to talk to him."

"The professor will get the merchandise," he says, flipping the charm switch. "He wants us to bring it to him in person."

She responds with the same detached tone as before.

"Professor Goodman doesn't receive visitors unless it's absolutely necessary."

"It is absolutely necessary. His getting merchandise ever again depends on it. Otherwise, it's out of our hands. And his."

"Goodman wouldn't want that! He'd want you to let us through," he pleas.

Ready Action: Draw sword, attack the weakest enemy when someone turns hostile.

"Goodman...Goodman...I know that name." Steve chews on his lip as he tries to chase that idea down. "There was a Tristan Goodman, a master weaver who once taught at the Citadel. He's one of, if not, the best Weaver in the Archipelago. I had him for my one and only year of Weaving."

Again, the two tattooed guards don't even seem to have registered what Steve just said. Amber and Fluffle realize that they're about to step into something more sinister than they anticipated, but they show no sign of backing down.

The guards think for a short moment on what to do, until finally the man raises his left hand towards the door and the adventurers can hear a distinct click.

"Do not touch anything," the woman warns the party.

Konrad bows deeply, and moves aside for Mihai. "After you, boss."

Mihai taps his temple at Konrad, and glances toward the door.

Steve waits patiently for Mihai to give the all clear signal.

Konrad checks the door with his Mynd Powerz.

Konrad reaches out with his mind and examines the door magically. His weaving training allows him to recognize that a trap has been woven into the door, probably of an offensive nature, but he can't pinpoint its exact effects and stay inconspicuous at the same time.

He's fairly sure it has been deactivated.

Konrad nods to the "boss", and makes a flourish with his hand for him to proceed.

Mihai proceeds to open the door and step through it.

Steve follows when he can. I assume Konrad goes second.

Mihai enters a long hallway illuminated by only two torches, but there's enough light to see four other doors; two of them on the left, one on the right and a set of two doors at the end of the hallway.

Mihai looks around and examines the side doors, for whatever his meager non-magical senses can gather.
