Act 2: Upheaval II - Revelations and search

Mihai takes the queue - "Heck, i'll put you on a boat out of the island myself. But you should really come with us. The people we're working for aren't exactly powerless, to put it mildly."

The idea of leaving Odwaz clearly stuns him. He blinks multiple times and says, "Just... leave?"

He seems to be slightly more receptive to the adventurers now.

"Probably the safest bet. Our client can make it happen, i'm sure."

He pauses a moment.

"So... what do you know that can help us?"

"Today?" he repeats. "No no no, it has to be right now! You just said they're following you!"

"Right now, then. Soon as you give us something we can use to track those kidnapped people down."

"I told you, I don't know anything about them! Even if the Noze kidnapped them, they'd make sure not to tell anything to someone like me."

"Well, who would know something about it?"

"I– I don't know, the boss?" he stammers. "Or, or his soldiers! They're the ones who carry out the hits!"

Mihai sighs - "C'mon Lukasz, gimme a name or two. Something i can follow up on."

Konrad pulls out a sheet of paper and his inkpen, and puts them on the ground by Lukasz.

Lukasz looks at the sheet of paper and then at Konrad. He gulps down some saliva and picks up the pen.

"He's the only soldier who I know the name of," he says with a hoarse throat.

He hands the sheet of paper to Mihai, the closest person to him at the moment. It reads Rafal Matras on it.

Mihai takes the paper - "You know where i can find him?"

The dealer hangs his head. "...I usually see him at the warehouse at the wharf. He's the one who hands me the Rev." He licks his upper lip. "Number 22."

"What time does that usually happen?"

"Eight in the morning for me." He sounds defeated. "The others come at different hours."

Mihai stands up - "Ok, let's get you out of here. Konrad, undo the manacles, will you?"

"Yes yes, cuffs off." He unlocks the manacles. "What do you need to get off this island?"

"Money for passage off this fucking island."

Mihai hands him 5g - "Here."

Konrad stalls when he hears the bad language. Good, I don't want to waste one copper on this coward.

Steve steps into the room for the first time and moves around Konrad. He gives the man 4 more gold.

Somewhat dumbfounded by the amount of money he just received, Lukasz stares at the pieces of gold in his hand for a moment and his eyes then shift between the adventurers and the back door; he's wondering whether or not they'll really let him go.

"You should really let us walk you over to the docks, but it's up to you."

Konrad picks up his pen and the manacles and puts them away. "Don't look this in the mouth, kid."
