"I'm glad you are Fluffle." He listens carefully to Mihai and says, "Don't worry I won't forget her breakfast and I'll grab the armor first thing when I get back. That way I won't forget it. Goodnight all." He tips his hat to the four and walks quickly out the door to reacquire his boots and catch up to Konrad.

The two mages and the fairy leave for the Vulcan, leaving the rest of the party behind with Szef Zerva. Once Steve has returned to the ship and grabbed Mihai's armor, he goes to check on Femke—who seems to be almost finished with her work—and then decides to join the fairies in the galley for the game night. The crew is now playing the board games Amber brought with her from the bunker near Narrowfist.
Mihai and Konrad have their own matters to tend to.

As Steve is playing games with the fairies he all of a sudden stops, stands up, pulls out his guitar and announces to all of them, "I might die tomorrow so I'm going to play this instrument for you and if you see my fiancee Zelk Freeron, you tell her about what I played cause it's for her."
(He doesn't play for six hours but maybe for a good 20 minutes or so before he's too tired to continue and goes to bed.)

A large group of fairies, which includes Fluffle, gather around Steve to listen to his music. They pay close attention to him and clap for him when he's finished playing the melody the first time. The idea that he might not survive the fight for tomorrow upsets a few of them however, and they make him swear to come back alive. No way are they going to just accept that Mr. Pizza might never come back.
Once Steve leaves for his room, a dozen of fairies choose to do the same and call it a night. The rest will continue to play board games for one more hour before they also go to sleep.

Captain's Quarters
Steve has just left the captain's quarters; he checked on Femke to make sure everything was okay, and then went to see the fairies after that. When Konrad enters the room, he sees the Tyke woman at the same place where he left her. She appears to almost be finished classifying the notes in neat piles across the table. The room is lit by a few lanterns on the table, the light dimming the further it reaches out to the bed, warming the atmosphere inside the cabin. Konrad idly wonders if perhaps he should have stopped for some candles to line the room with, being a sucker for romantic gestures, in spite of using them in the past - distant and recent - as a false front when out womanizing.
Just as Femke puts a sheet of paper on the thinnest pile, she looks up at Konrad and stops moving.
"Almost done? Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but it sounded like you were going to have to take a little longer than that."
"...Professor Goodman was very organized," Femke explains. "I overestimated the amount of work this would require." She has now stopped working and is staring at him.
"Lucky you." He pauses. "Are there really no...'deviants' among the Tykes? According to the laws of your people?"
"No," she says. "...Why do you ask?"
He walks over to the table. "Just thinking about whether this was the right decision. We're hiding all this", he gestures at the table, "away from our own kind, and letting potentially all of yours have full disclosure. I don't know if your laws are different from ours, and this...this mind control nonsense, would most definitely be wholly unlawful and morally twisted, within any body of government I can think of. Should I be concerned about what your kind will do with this research?"
"We won't do anything with it," Femke assures Konrad. She seems truthful.
"Good, that's a load off of my mind. Now." He steps over to her and leans to one side slightly with his hand on the table. "Are you still interested in having the experience of a lifetime?"
Femke tilts her head. "Are you boasting?"
He smiles. "Maybe. That's for me to know, and for you. To find. Out."
He offers a hand to help Femke out of her seat, like a gentleman. No straight answers here. The experience is a human one, and that's just what he's offering. She gazes at Konrad's hand for a long moment, until she finally takes it and follows his lead. Hand still in hers, he looks her in the eyes and brings a hand up to caress her hair and cheek, then goes in for a kiss.
Earlier...:
In the captain's quarters of the Vulcan, Konrad is relaxing in the bath, audibly scrubbing himself and taking some time, while Femke reads in silence, with her back toward the tub. Konrad likewise faces away from her, and can hear her turn a page every thirty seconds or so.
"You certain you don't mind being in here, young lady? You know how people talk," he says, grinning to himself.
"Yes, I do," she replies. "It is however unlikely that the rest of the crew would believe that we've had sex. And if they did, it wouldn't bother me." Konrad would only see her back facing him from the tub if he looked over his shoulder. She keeps working without turning or looking in his direction.
"Yowch, that's a kick to the nethers." He scrubs some more. "Are you of age among your kind? I'd better ask, before I have a reason to worry."
There's a short pause before she answers his question. "I am of age, yes. You need not worry about this, not with the Tykes."
"'Not with the Tykes'? That itself is a worry, but not with regards to myself...."
He leans forward on his knees to dip his head into the water, then pulls back up, hair now wet and ready to be rinsed. "But, hold on. Is that what you want them to think? Or, perhaps you see something you like? I admit I'm quite the specimen... No, I take it that's not enough to catch your eye. Perhaps you need to examine me more closely?"
There's another pause before Femke talks again. "What would I see that I don't know already about human anatomy?"
"Variation, my dear Femke. You've seen my form, I think I sit pretty high on the curve there. Perhaps you'd like to see how I place on the curve below the belt?" he teases.
While waiting for an answer, he lathers his hair with shampoo. "I wonder how I compare to your kind. Am I an outlier? Or am I more toward the middle? Do you have enough data?" he shoots a lascivious gaze over his shoulder.
It has been at least a minute since she last turned a page. "You're sexually interested in me, am I correct?" She still hasn't turned to face him.
He chuckles. "Yes, you're quite pretty, and part of me does want to see what you're hiding from the world beneath those trousers. I can't decide if your creator was from Myr or Lorinth. You're not the type to dance around the subject, are you? Is this how they do it in Tyke Land?"
"...We do not feel the urge to have sex like humans do. We can do it, but reproduction is impossible this way."
Konrad dips his head back into the water to rinse the shampoo off. Oh my. He comes back up for air. "And yet you can...? If not for the lack of said human urge, I'd say count yourself supremely lucky. What do you do with that knowledge? And, to be extremely selfish, I must ask, what drives you to...'recreational' purpose with the act?"
"...Curiosity could be one factor. I've never experienced this act before."
"Really. Well, now you have my attention." He lifts a leg up onto the edge of the tub and applies soap.
Femke has stopped working on the notes for now. "If you wish, I could spend the night with you once you're back." She then falls silent.
Konrad perks up at this strange offer and eases off on the lewd barrage of taunts. "Hmm...if I wish," he continues, making one final jab. He pauses. "What about you? Which are you more interested in: me, or the experience?"
"I am... uncertain." She thinks for a moment. She then slowly looks behind her shoulder and gazes at Konrad. Her cheeks are red. "You are the only one who has shown interest in me."
Oh.
"Ah, I understand." He stops washing his legs and turns around to face her to treat this with formality, rising out of the bath to a modest height for decency's sake, and places his hands on the tub to steady himself. "You are a person, more than the sum of your parts and more than the experience you can provide." He can scarcely believe he's talking like this, quite thankful that he is talking to one of her kind right now. "I wanted to make sure I stand out in some way for you to make this offer. That said, my interest in you is akin to a boar in heat. I've never been exclusive in such matters." But I can't say I never will be... "Is that acceptable to you?"
Femke stares at Konrad for a long moment until she finally nods, slowly. "Yes," she says. "Can I... Can I wait for you here?"
Konrad nods. "Here would be the best place for it, yes." She's blushing, and she even stuttered. That's adorable. He goes back to washing himself. "You, and a Tyke's first time, damn. Ain't that a kick in the head." Given what he'd learned in this conversation, it certainly is.
She refocuses her attention on the piles of papers and says, "I'll try not to kick you in the head."
He just laughs. "Thanks, I appreciate that."
There's a short moment of silence, and Konrad thinks he heard a small chuckle. Could have just been the creaking of the ship however.
Paging Dr. Gleeson:
Konrad sighs in the afterglow and levitates his pipe to him and what he needs to light it, looking over at Femke for any reaction or disapproval before doing so. Magic makes everything better, he thinks to himself. The Tyke woman is still recovering from this new experience. She either doesn't register the floating pipe, or doesn't mind that Konrad wants to smoke. For now, she slides under the cover of the bed and looks up at the ceiling. Konrad, on the other hand, is still uncovered from the waist up.
After he lights up, he floats something over to the bedside to use as an ash tray. "Looks like you're more than just a friend-of-a-friend, now."
Femke turns her head and looks at the red mage. Her cheeks are flushed and her hair clings to her sweaty forehead. "What do you mean?" she asks.
Konrad giggles. "I meant to make a funny, sweetheart. Didn't you get it?"
It is difficult to read her face, although she seems somewhat surprised by the use of the word "sweetheart". She searches for her words and then asks, "...What am I then?"
Konrad blows a smoke ring and smiles at her. "Well, I don't consider my dalliances acts to be shared with mere strangers. I think I'd like to call you...a genuine friend? What do you think of that?"
She ponders the idea for a few seconds before she answers him. "I can try to be your friend. Which would make us.... friends with benefits? This is the right term, right?"
He tilts his head. "With 'benefits'? Were we that good?"
"I... don't know. What is the right term?"
He smiles wider. "That would be the right term, if you wanted to do this again sometime."
So many opportunities to be a smug bastard.
"Oh." She starts to blush and momentarily looks away from Konrad. "I would like to. Would you?"
"Would I..." Konrad pulls her in for a kiss on the cheek. "Yes, I think I would."
Femke rests her head on the pillow and stares at Konrad without saying a word. Her expression is between soft and straight-faced. Konrad's smile lessens when he realizes she's just staring at him now, and he faces forward.
Clearing his throat a little, he asks, "It's...not possible, for a Tyke and a human to reproduce. Right?"
"No, it's not," she reassures him. "Contraception is unnecessary." Again, she seems to be telling the truth.
"Right, right." He nods to himself. "So, what do you think? Was this everything they make it out to be back where you're from?"
"...No," Femke says. "But everything we've experienced has been different than what we expected."
Konrad gets a modest high and a little smug. "In every way you've ever dealt with humans?"
"No. Some of our preconceptions about humans were right. I can't say much, but... we've had to adapt."
Konrad's smile returns. "Well, you may rest here if you wish. It's time to say goodnight."
"Oh... I'll stay then."
Femke chooses a more comfortable position on the bed and then closes her eyes, ready to fall asleep. As she does, Konrad can hardly muster a response, and just turns over to hide his bewilderment at the way she's behaving. Soon, he'll be fast asleep. What is going on with this girl.
Observations:
From Zeiss in chat: "Some clarification; Femke looks completely human when naked. Her body has less imperfections than other people, but if Konrad didn't know she was a Tyke, he probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference."
She also has body heat, same as other human beings.

Mihai and Amber
Nadzieja has gone to sleep soon after the mages have left; she wants to get as much rest as possible, and she also needs to wait for Duma to go to sleep first before she can travel into the Shroud and insert the orb into his head. Once the monk has gone to her bedroom, Florolf moves to her armchair and lies down on it, ready to take a nap. Meanwhile, Amber clumsily pours herself a glass of wine and drinks a sip from it.
Mihai looks like he might say something but holds off on it while he mulls it over - "You actually like that?"
"Nope," Amber says in Lofellian. "That's not why you drink that stuff anyway."
Mihai looks down, knowing exactly what she means. He sits down next to her - "Yeah... it's not. First time i did it had been a real shitty day, too."
"...Yeah." She takes another sip, frowns and looks down at the wine while stirring her glass. "That was a shitty week I guess."
"If you hadn't been there to save our asses, would've been worse. Today too, you did really good work out there. I didn't even know where to start with the kidnappings." - he says, trying to hide the pang of sorrow mixed in with the praise
She looks at Mihai, forces a smile and says, "We're in this together, no?" Her glass is now half-empty. "I'll be okay Mihai. I talked about it with Nadia earlier. It... helped."
Mihai is a little surprised, though not displeased. He betrays some of it in his eyes, but then looks down - "Heh, there's really nothing i can say you don't already know, is there?" - he sounds a little sad when he says it
She gazes at Mihai in silence for a long moment before she decides to put her glass down and hug her brother in an effort to comfort him "We'll find them," Amber whispers to Mihai's ear. "Then we're going to punch Edward in the face for what he did."
"Oh, i'll send his teeth flying alright." - he whispers back - "Just..." - he struggles - "I'm here, ok? You don't have to take it all on by yourself."
She pulls back and smiles. "Okay. I'll... I'll be more careful."
He smiles a bit - "I mean that too, sure, but more like..." - he tries to say it, it's like the words get stuck in his throat - "You can talk to me if you need to. About all this. You've been through a lot - more than i ev..." - he stops himself, before it becomes a lecture - "You know, just... i'm here for you."
She nods. "And me for you."
He hugs her again.

Captain's Quarters
Konrad drifts back to sleep...
Freedom:
The world around Konrad is a haze of suits and swords. Steel tings and clinks as the suits slash and parry. Fire and ice radiate sweltering heat and chilling cold from the blasts as they nuke combatants. Konrad weaves his way through the chaos, everyone seemingly ignoring him until eventually one or two come at him with weapons. One flails about as fire erupts on his body with a snap of Konrad's fingers. He inhales the smell of blood as it flecks off the face of another suit and hits him in the eye. Next to him, steel erupts from the chest of a pirate. The woman behind him cackles, as if taunting him. He sees the curvature of her figure girded in leather, and that's all it takes to connect the voice to the figure. Konrad is on her in mere seconds, slashing and slicing at the enemy. For an eternity of seconds more, his assault is met with the sound of their weapons scraping against each other, until finally he finds an opening and siezes it. More blood splashes him as it jumps from the open throat of Kira. Around him the battle seems to have quieted down, and a cheer goes up among the scarred men as those who remain standing on the other side drop their weapons. The mages, naturally, are being butchered. As the weak of will or fortitude cry out as they are slain, Konrad looks down to behold the face of his dead rival...
Naomi.
Konrad looks up at the surviving enemies for the first time, and puts faces to the names of friends and family, one after the other, all lined up and waiting for the chop, some ceremony he and his men never had use for: execution. He barely gets any words out as man at one end swiftly reaches into a small cage, pulls out a tiny human with blue hair and crushes her in the palm of his hand. The man screams in agony as flames engulf him, while the red mage plants his blade in his stomach, pushing it to the hilt and drawing it out. All around him, scarred men pile on him and hold him down. Their captain goes down the row of hostages, executing them. Steve. Mihai. Fedler. Matka. Ojciec. Femke. Naomi? Then, his brother.
His brother's lifeless head hits the floor and rolls once, twice, three times towards him, and Miro's voice speaks to him from nowhere, as the heads of his children roll into view.
Konrad stirs awake in the morning, light shining through the window. Around 8am, by his reckoning. The space once occupied by Femke is now empty, and far from his mind at the moment. The words of his brother haunt him from beyond the grave, beyond the land of dreams.
Czy to twoja 'wolność', bracie? Czy jesteś szczęśliwy? (Is this your 'freedom', brother? Are you happy?)

"Matka" - mother "Ojciec" - father

Around 8:00 AM, 6th of April 422 Odwaz, Myr
Steve
May wakes up in her cabin with a mild hangover and the taste of wine in her mouth. She looks at her side and searches for the man she brought to her bed last night and is surprised to find it empty. Her lovers are usually up for a second round, even when she has drunk a lot more than she did yesterday.
Suddenly, the taste of wine disappears from her mouth and she realizes that she's not a woman. Her name is—no, his name is Steve Oldturn, not May Brauer. ____________
Mihai
Mihai wakes up in his bed, alone. It takes a few seconds for him to remember where he is; in one of the bedrooms of Nadzieja's residence at the Faculty. He must have slept a little over ten hours judging by the light coming from the window. In fact, he feels completely refreshed and ready to fight again.
He then sees it; a silhouette of Darkness standing on the opposite side of the room, right by the door. And it's looking right at him.
"Hello sunshine," he says with an indiscernible smile.
____________
Konrad
Once Konrad has recovered from his nightmare, he stands up and decides to clean himself. He suddenly stops when he passes by his mirror however, having seen something that his mind doesn't understand; his reflection is different. Konrad is now looking at the naked body of a muscular woman with light brown hair and green eyes, not the body he was born with.
When he moves, she moves.

Steve smacks his lips and makes a sour face. "Damn it May, that better have just been wine." The joke doesn't really help him feel any better, and no one was there to hear it anyway, but it's better than acknowledging that pit in his stomach. It's been there since Narrowfist and it keeps on getting bigger. With a resigned sigh, the black mage gets up and creates water for his washbasin with his water cantrip while humming a wordless tune. Just going through the familiar ritual helps. After a few minutes, he splashes some water in his face and finds he is ready to face the day. He gets dressed and heads to the galley to make breakfast.

When Steve enters the galley, he finds a few plates of cooked food on one of the tables. Femke is already there, eating her own breakfast. She greets Steve with a "Good morning" and refocuses her attention on her plate.
The crew appears to be working on the deck at the moment. ____________
Mihai
Before Mihai can say anything else, the Aspect begins to evaporate into thin air. A few more seconds and he'll be gone. ____________
Konrad
Konrad examines his own body and might feel reassured to find out that everything is where it should be. When he looks back at the mirror, the reflection of Samanta Walters has been replaced by his own.

Konrad
Konrad finishes cleaning himself and then leaves his quarters. It is sunny outside and the crew is using this opportunity to wash the deck. They salute their captain and give him some room so he can go to the galley.

Konrad will join the others in the galley after Kolson's next two posts.
____________
Mihai
Mihai instinctively wills for Smirk to stay and the moment his hand touches the dark magic, flashes of familiar landscapes and people assault his mind. This stops once Smirk has disappeared, but Mihai immediately realizes the effect of this action; he can now remember the early childhood of Nick as if it was his own. The memories of this period of Nick's life are hazy and they jumble together with Mihai's, making it difficult to discern which memory belongs to who.
Only when Mihai searches for specific signs—language, location, people—does he manage to tell which are his.
