- In all appearance, Fedler was listening attentively to her comrades' discussion, but Mihai's question seems to have snapped her out of her thoughts.
"She didn't tell you?" she asks, surprised. "I assumed she did when I told you the news. You kind of... didn't react."
The hunter's eyes alternate between Steve and Mihai. She then crosses her arms, and explains.
"She's going to call in some favors, and arrange for her transfer back to the Citadel. She..." Fedler takes a moment to choose the her next words. "She said she would find a way to make Yen her student."
The young redhead scratches her nose and looks away. |

He thinks of a few more things to say, but they'd be needlessly specific, and hardly what Fedler needs to hear, so he awkwardly leaves it on that positive note. |

Zeiss Thirty minutes left before the meeting. Kolson I thought the meeting is in the inn itself and we are killing time waiting for him to show. Is that not the case? If it's not, how long will it take us to get where we are going? K 10 to 15 minutes. I suggest we leave in the next 10. Zeiss Blackcliff said to meet Sonlake at his office, and K answered the rest of the question. Kolson Thanks fellas. Plenty of time for a drink then. You guys going to answer? K Well, i doubt Fedler wants to leave Yen's side right now. Rory It was Blackcliff, remember? And I'll take a free drink, sure.

| Rory attempts to seduce and gamble for a woman's time like she's a prize. It doesn't go over well. - A Botched Intrusion (Konrad):
- OOC, Zeiss-to-Rory:
I will give you more context before you commit to any other decision.
I checked the previous pages, and I haven't seen anywhere that says Konrad has bought new clothes since the last battle, which means he still wears the ones who have been burned by the Aspect in several patches.
There's also 20 minutes left before the lounge closes (it's almost midnight).
One of the attractive women Konrad has spotted is talking to an equally attractive man who doesn't appear armed but is well dressed; the other woman is talking to another woman and two male friends, and they are playing their last round of a dice game. Konrad gets up and pretends to walk in a direction past the table with the game of dice. Once the dice on the next roll all land, and once the players have counted the sum or shown any reaction to it(bad roll, good roll, etc), he will use telekinesis to lift a die and float it tumbling through the air and into his hand. "Mind if I join a new game?" he asks, grinning with gambler's moxie. Are they actually gambling with money, or just having a fun game? Diplomacy- OOC, Rory-to-Zeiss:
For no particular reason, I would also like to know if I can use Spellcraft or Concentration to manipulate dice rolls with telekinesis, to substitute for sleight of hand.
The four friends are just having a bit of fun, and they don't appear to have bet anything at all. Once Konrad does his little trick, one of the two men retorts, " Not sure we could play with someone who can move a dice like that." One of the women -the one who didn't catch Konrad's attention, puts her hand on her friend's arm and cuts him off. " Nah, let him play," she says with a malicious smile. He hesitates for a few seconds, but quickly makes up his mind, and adds, " Okay then, but we play for keeps. 10 pieces of gold per round and if anyone cheats, they pay double. You can afford that, right? So, is it a deal? Mister...?" - OOC, Zeiss-to-Rory:
It is possible, but quite difficult since you have to pay close attention to the result of the dice and time your interference accordingly; too little, and nothing happens, but too strong and it's obvious to anyone who is observing that you're cheating.
Konrad also notices that they're luring him in.
He answers politely, sticking to his foreign Wytrwalish accent in Imperial since initiating the exchange, "I can, but for 5 gold per round - I'd like to make a additional wager. I've had a hard day's ride, and at the moment I want nothing more than a chance to meet and exchange pleasantries and small talk with someone new - someone like you," he explains, looking at the pretty lady and dipping his head toward whom he refers. "Today, tomorrow, sometime before your errand forces you to move on. What do you say? Do you find me bearable enough to put your time on the line for everyone here?"As he waits on her answer, he wonders if his charm is enough to sway her, or if she truly considers him a fair and adequate burden. Perhaps he will have to offer something for her to personally gain from this gamble. Endless midnight peers directly into itself, pouring through the imaginary portal in the mirror from both sides of illusion and reality inside his bag of holding. DiplomacyDeceptionThe young woman looks away, irked by the red mage's approach. Her disinterest is obvious, and she disregards his proposal with a few words. " Uh, no." She doesn't appear to know what else she should say, but one of her male companion takes it over from here. He leans on the table, and calmly says, " Why don't you walk away, friend?" He is clearly fuming for some reason, but manages to keep his composure. The three other people at the table appear to consider Konrad an annoyance to avoid, and their friendly demeanor is all but gone. The innkeeper's attention, as well at the other two other patrons sitting at another table, is fixated on the mage. This had all fallen apart before he even had a chance. He understood why, and he understood, separately, why he was being shooed away. He was getting a few looks now, but he's a showman when he wants to be. And right now, he needs to be. The things he says next, everyone gets to hear. "Of course. I didn't mean to offend. I'll be on my way."He rolls the die back onto the table, peeking out of small curiosity at the result, though it is of no importance since he'd need to roll four others to get a hand. He skirts the table to reach the stairs, but before he moves away from it, he answers, "Konrad."He turns around to see if they heard him. "It's Konrad." And I hope you hear that name over and over in your sleep, because I won't be repeating it next time we meet. The four of them give him a disinterested look when he says his name, and quickly go back to ignoring him. When Konrad turns back to the stairs, he sees Breeze hovering in front of him with tired eyes. " Cupcake," she demands. The innkeeper, who was keeping an eye on Konrad, freezes when the fantastical creature enters his field of vision. His mouth agape, he can only stand there, silent. The remaining patrons haven't noticed her. "Here you are, one cupcake. What's the situation in there?"Breeze takes the cupcake with both of her arms, and replies, " Yen is sleeping, the others are talking, and I'm eating." She proceeds to take a large bite of her cupcake, and slowly ascends the stairs with her prize.

- Breeze silently listens to the others talk while taking a few bites from her newly acquired cupcake. As for Fedler, she simply nods at Steve, then says, "I've got to check something first."
However, she doesn't go into her room, but walks up instead to the next one and knocks on its door. A man opens it ajar, recognizes the hunter, and says, "Yes? Is there a problem?"
"No," replies Fedler, "but I have to meet someone. I should be back in an hour. You'll look after her?"
"Don't worry, she'll be safe."
She nods at him, then turns back towards the group. The man closes the door, not even acknowledging the rest of you. Fedler, who probably notices the questioning look of her new colleagues, quickly explains, "That's one of the mages from the Citadel who's in charge of looking after Yen. Blackcliff had his men warn them, and they got us these rooms."
The redhead debates whether she should stop there or not, but she decides to continue.
"There's a ship sailing for the Citadel tomorrow. They'll take her there." |

- Your group go down the stairs and leave the inn through the lobby. The innkeeper is stunned at the sight of the little fairy, and as you walk before him, he does nothing but stay silent, his eyes fixated on her. As for the last patrons left in the lounge, they only get a glimpse of the strange creature before you get outside, but it's enough for them to exclaim their awe. For some reason, none of them follow you to get a better look at Breeze.
Steve guides the rest of the party to a tavern he passed by a few days ago and which is located halfway between the inn and Sonlake's office. On the way there, Breeze attracts the attention of many passerby... namely, all of them.
|"What... what is that? Did you see!?" | "Dammit Garry! I told you to stop fixing our drinks!" | "I didn't! I mean, I did!" | "Woah." | "What the fuck!?" | "Should we call the guards? Maybe it's dangerous!" |"It's waving at us man. I don't think it can even hurt us. Do you see how small it is?"
Needless to say, she is causing quite a commotion, to which Breeze reacts as best she can; by eating her cupcake and waving at people while saying "Hello!". Fedler approaches the rest of you to confer.
"We should go directly to the Coins' office and avoid the tavern." She glances at the fairy who has now wolfed down half of her cupcake. "I don't trust a drunken crowd with her around." |

"Nope," she declares categorically. "I'm not going to hang around in a pocket while you guys have fun. Not anymore." She then takes a big bite of her cupcake to make her point.
Fedler sighs, then says to the group, "Look, we don't need to go to the tavern to drink. Someone buys a few bottles, then we go to find ourselves a nice place with less people."
The fairy quickly raises her hand. "Oh, I know a place! Let me pick! Let me pick!" |

He'll head towards the meeting, muttering to himself in frustration.
- OOC:
Not actually mad or frustrated with you guys. I was just thinking about how people process difficult and traumatic things in different ways and at different rates and thought it might be worth exploring. Especially for someone at Steve's age and of his temperament.

It takes only a few more minutes to reach the Coins' offices of Highwind. At the top of the building sits a clock which indicates 12:04 PM, and the entrance can be found under it. Your group enters and sees that the door to Sonlake's office is open. He appears to have lighted a few candles for this late meeting.
- Coins's offices:
"Please, come in," he tells you.
Once you do, you spot him behind his desk, sitting on his chair with three purses of gold in front of him. He seems tired, and not just because that he was woken up in the middle of the night.
"So that's the famous fairy," he adds, amazed by what he is witnessing.
Breeze happily replies, "Yo! So, you're our new boss?"
He smiles. "I'm only a manager, but yes, you will take your orders from me." He then turns towards the hunter, and nods. "Miss Melan."
Fedler nods back at him.
"So," continues Sonlake. "I hear everything went to hell?" |
