Act 2: Upheaval II - Revelations and search

"Hmm... what kind of guy did he strike you as?"

"The kind that likes to be popular," Amber says with a frown. "I don't trust him, that's for sure."

"Maybe I should stay with her, no?" Fluffle suggests.

Mihai looks at Fluffle - "Sure." - then considers some more - "Better we control the terrain. Amber, try to nudge him over to the abandoned building down south."

"Sounds good to me."

"Okay, the abandoned building," Amber repeats. "So what, I just take him near it and you guys will push him inside?"

"As near as you can. Once he starts hesitating, we'll do the rest."

"Uh, what?" Fluffle blurs out, confused. Amber has a similar reaction.

"Breeze has a spell that traps all sound within a certain radius. Pretty useful when i want to sneak somewhere."

"Well, I'm good to go," Amber states with confidence.

"Me too," Fluffle adds. "I'll watch her from the sky and find you guys if there's a problem."

Mihai looks like he wants to say something more to Amber, but just holds it back and nods.

Konrad leaves with Steve to find a shop to procure some tools for the job. He's looking for tanglefoot bags, while Steve is after stinkbombs and firecrackers.

looking for a magic shop

Steve tags along but doesn't help in anyway. He's distracted by the large crowds of tourists.

Mihai takes the extra time to scout out the building. See what entrances and exits there are, and where can the drug dealer be cornered.

The party splits up and into two group; Konrad and Steve go to the Market while Mihai, Amber and Fluffle go to the abandoned building where they plan to ambush the drug dealer.

With the help of his two companions, Mihai sets out to explore the closed-down shop; he decides to pick the lock of the back entrance, which he manages to do after a few tries. The trio enters the back room where most of the windows have been boarded, except for one Amber points out. The boarding planks appear to have been removed at some point. When moving to the room at the front of the building, they find the front door locked. There's only one large display window in this room and it's quite hard to see through it because of the dust.

There are stairs that lead to a second floor where the shop owner must have lived. The windows on that floor have also been boarded up, with no exception, and if it wasn't for the rays of light shining through, it'd be completely dark. There are also signs of a squatter living here, but after a careful search, the group finds no one.

Mihai, Amber and Fluffle must leave quickly if they wish to arrive on time for the date.

Konrad finds a small magic shop that focuses on woven items and which offers under the counter the tanglefoot bags he seeks; only 2 are available, and they cost 14 gold each.

There are 11 firecrackers for sale, each one costing 2 silvers. It appears the owner has sold many of those in the last few days. There are no stinkbombs for sale at this shop however.

On their way back to the Space Hamster, Konrad spots a tail; a seemingly ordinary looking woman has followed the two mages for a few minutes now. She must be in her thirties, but it's hard to tell from this distance; she looks like any other Myrzen woman out to shop.

Mihai makes his way back to the party.

Konrad motions for Steve to walk closer. "Don't look, but it seems we've attracted someone's attention," he whispers. "We've barely begun and already the shoe's on the other foot. A woman, someone in her 30's, looks like any other local. Got any ideas?"

"Acknowledged" Steve Whisper Signs back. He stops at a nearby business to use their display window as a mirror to look for the woman Konrad described.

Deception 28 to not be obvious about it.

Steve turns away to observe the woman's reflection in one of the display windows on this street, only to see her walk away in the opposition direction, disappearing into the crowd.

"Damn, she noticed. She just turned around and left." He continues walking towards the Space Hamster. "Come on, we can still make it if we hurry."

"Shoot." Konrad follows him. After a moment of quiet, he asks, "Did you at least get a good look? What would you rate her on a scale of 1, to...Zelk, we'll say?"

"Sorry, I didn't really get a good look. Heh, 1 to Zelk. Is that a trouble scale?"

Konrad chuckles. "No, but it should be!"
