Act 3: The Ball - Preparations of War

"Let's go together." Konrad puts a hand on Mihai's shoulder and pulls Steve closer with the other. "You Shift, and bring us along."

The adventurers take in their surroundings, but see no Shriekers. Fluffle tightens his grip on Konrad's ear and prepares himself for the worst.

Steve signs out "Let's go" and starts quietly walking towards the hotel while keeping an eye out for more Shriekers.

Konrad gives Mihai a light pat on the shoulder and follows.

Prepared for anything, the party keeps a sharp lookout for any Shrieker, careful not to make any noises as they head back to the Rubrum Holoserica. However, the rest of their trip remains uneventful, and they enter the hostelry's lobby without having encountered anyone else on their way here.

They also notice one person behind the receptionist's desk, as well as two armed men sitting in a couch nearby. They appear to be Vigilate guards.

Steve acknowledges and moves out.

Konrad follows suit, but slips on the stairs from being drenched in the rain.

The group climbs up the stairs and safely arrives at the hallway where their rooms are. They haven't seen anyone on their way there, nor heard anything either.

Konrad turns to each of them and gives them a nod, and jumps into the hallway to go to his room outside of the Shroud.

Steve follows everyone back. The relief at finally being back was palpable. He couldn't wait for a hot shower.

The party makes it back safely to the real world. Fluffle lets out a sigh a relief and leaves Konrad's shoulder so he can stretch his wings a little.

"You did well, Fluffle." Konrad rubs his forehead. He's begun to feel all the hard work they've done today. "Let's just call it a night."

"Good work everyone. See you later." Steve yawns and heads to his room to take a hot shower. After putting his pajamas and a robe on, he'll head downstairs to order a sandwich from the kitchen, which he'll take back to his room to eat. That's when he'll finally brush his teeth and go to sleep.

Konrad just enters his room, pulls out a piece of dried meat to munch on, strips out of his wet clothes and puts on something dry. He collapses on his bed before curling up under the sheets and falling asleep.

"Goodnight, Mihai. Goodnight, Konrad."

Fluffle waves goodbye at his two companions, then follows Steve into his room since he promised to look after him until this orb situation is resolved. By the time everyone goes to sleep, it's almost three o'clock in the morning.

They dream peacefully.
